future where access, opportunity,

the path to that future.
Together, we will build a new home for Symphony Space
that reflects these beliefs, and we will ensure that we
have the vital
resources to expand our programs
and
reach.
At a time when the arts are under tremendous
strain, and the cultural ecosystem is shrinking,
we are bolstering our commitment
to serving artists and audiences
across disciplines, across generations, and
across New York City.
With architecture that celebrates the
openness and warmth unique to Symphony Space, the arts and community will blend
seamlessly throughout welcoming
public spaces—new spaces that are flexible,
multifunctional, and fully ADA compliant, allowing for
a more inclusive experience for all.
There is
a special Symphony Space alchemy
that occurs when artists and audiences come together.

For Art. Artists are
our heart and soul
Since our founding more than 45 years ago, meaningful and adventurous programming has thrived and radiated far beyond our beloved corner of 95th and Broadway.
Each year, we present over 600 artists on our stages—authors, actors, musicians, singers, dancers, thought leaders, and more.
EMERGING VOICES and ICONIC FIGURES. New works and classics revisited. Conversations that enthrall and PERFORMANCES THAT TRANSPORT. Each and every event uniquely curated. Each one-night-only, and ONLY AT SYMPHONY SPACE.
Unfortunately, our physical spaces have not kept pace with our unparalleled artistic offerings, and our beloved building no longer serves our artistic aspirations.
For community.
Community is our DNA
EACH YEAR, MORE THAN 120,000 PEOPLE ATTEND OUR EVENTS AND PERFORMANCES, and our arts education programs engage over 18,000 learners of all ages. Extending our reach and commitment to accessibility further, our programs in our theaters are livestreamed, and Selected Shorts is carried on public radio and podcast platforms, attracting more than
150,000 listeners across the globe each week.
Our EMBRACE IS WIDE and our COMMUNITY EXPANSIVE. Our audiences come from every borough in New York City, all 50 states, and over 70 countries around the world.
For generations.
The time is now
BUILDING TOGETHER WILL TRANSFORM OUR BUILDING AND OUR CAPACITY. The goals of the campaign reflect our vision of what is possible when the arts are allowed to flourish, artists are able to create unencumbered, and students and school communities have access to meaningful experiences in the arts.
In addition to funds to support the building project, Building Together will raise dedicated funds to ensure that our programs continue to innovate and thrive, and our building continues to
be a beacon for broad and diverse communities for generations
to come.
Together, we will build... a BRIGHTER FUTURE, a BETTER NEIGHBORHOOD, a STRONGER NEW YORK CITY, and an ARTISTIC HOME that celebrates and welcomes all.
A Public-Private Partnership
The success of this campaign is dependent upon a powerful public-private partnership between the City of New York, New York State, and the full Symphony Space community.
Our public funding is more than just a financial contribution; it signifies a deep recognition of Symphony Space’s value, history, and artistic importance to and within the cultural ecosystem of New York. Similarly, the success of this campaign relies heavily on participation from the private sector and investment from our community of supporters, including individuals, private foundations, and corporations.
Together, we can leverage the strengths and resources of both sectors to ensure that Symphony Space realizes its vision for BUILDING TOGETHER.
